2009 Rocca Family Cabernet Sauvignon Collinetta Vineyard

Full medium ruby. Aromas of roasted black fruits are riper and less minty than those of the winery's Grigsby Vineyard Cabernet. Shows more mid-palate stuffing as well, with flavors of black raspberry, coffee and mocha conveying an impression of medicinal reserve. This wine also suggests a wide range of ripeness--from slightly roasted to cool and herbal--but has decent buffering material to support its serious tannins. Still, I wanted a bit more definition and lift. (14.% alcohol)
