Medium-deep red. Very ripe aromas of smoked meat and minerals; expressive today owing to its low acidity. Superripe, fleshy and substantial, but showing a porty side. Finishes with dusty, slightly dry tannins and an exotic character. A distinctly hot-year wine. Philippe likes this one better than I do.

Medium ruby. Spicy, bright aromas of dark berries. Juicy but a bit clenched in the mouth, with flavors of dark berries and brown spices. Finishes with substantial, very firm tannins and a note of licorice. This will need at least a few years of patience.
