Tasting notes
Inky black fruit, bittersweet chocolate, lavender, violet, graphite and spice infuse Mending Wall's 2014 Petite Syrah Palisades Vineyard. The Petite tannins are present, but also pretty much buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit. Deep, plush and super-expressive, the 2014 will drink well with minimal cellaring.

The 2014 Petite Sirah Palisades Vineyard comes from a famous site for Petite Sirah. The wine is 100% of that varietal, aged 15 months in 25% new French oak. This is a blockbuster Petite Sirah with a black/purple color, notes of licorice, graphite, incense, camphor, blueberries and blackberries. The wine has sweet tannin, a big, full-bodied mouthfeel and loads of upside potential. Drink it over the next 25 years.
