Tasting notes
Good full ruby. Rocky, scented nose combines blackberry, licorice, pepper, herbs, graphite and flinty minerality. Spicy and supple, with lush mid-palate flavors of cassis, cola and spices accented by herbs and pepper. Finishes with broad, dusty tannins and repeating minerality, but without quite the structure of the 2007 version.

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate boasts notable intensity and power from start to finish. Brooding and powerful, the 2008 emerges from the glass with black fruit, smoke, licorice, tar and earthiness. Today the 2008 comes across as a bit rough around the edges, especially with regards to the tannins. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2023. Eric Flanagan balances a career managing his hedge fund with making wine from his property in Bennett Valley. The talented Philippe Melka is the consulting oenologist. Tel. (707) 526-4307
