Tasting notes
Opaque ruby. High-pitched red and dark berry and potpourri scents are sharpened by a minerally aspect and show a hint of smoky Indian spices. Lively and focused in the mouth, offering concentrated raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that gain sweetness and weight with air. Shows a suave blend of power and vivacity, finishing gently tannic, with excellent focus and length. Burgaud's wines continue to show greater finesse as the years go by and here's a prime example.

Bright purple. Powerful aromas of candied blackberry, blueberry and licorice are complicated by violet and black pepper. Lush, intensely flavored and smooth, offering spicy dark berry and bitter cherry compote flavors enlivened by dusty minerality. Finishes sappy and long, with echoing spiciness, a hint of olive and chewy tannins.
