Score 90/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound, Oct 2007
Initially, a much more deeply pitched nose of briar, earth and a sauvage/crushed herb note nuanced by just a touch of wood spice announces itself yet with air, it too lightens and becomes higher-toned before merging into round, rich, delicious and velvety medium full flavors that coat the mouth with dry extract on the pleasantly youthful finish that has just a bit of asperity to it. This should round into drinking form quickly as everything is here to permit it to drink well both young but also age as there is a firm core of tannins lurking beneath the baby fat. Lovely stuff and definitely worth a look.
