Tasting notes
Surprisingly polished and suave, the 2007 Eric Kent Wine Cellars Syrah Kalen's Big Boy Blend possesses a ripe, sweet bouquet of blackberry liqueur and blueberry pie like aromas that are supported by licorice, pepper, spice, and touches of chocolate. Full bodied and beautifully textured, the wine carries a seamless, smooth texture, notable balance, and a pure, long finish. While a full scaled, big wine, it stays light and easy drinking on the palate. It should drink well for 5 to 8 years, if not longer.

Dark purple. Ripe dark berry and cherry aromas, joined by sexy oak spice and fruitcake qualities and a hint of anise. Deeply pitched black and blue fruit flavors are enlivened by juicy acidity, picking up notes of smoke and olive on the back half. Tannins arrive with aeration and add grip to the long, spicy finish. This is built to age but would be fine to drink in the near term with a good decanting.
