Smells of strawberries, cherry and a hint of woodsmoke. Classically styled strawberry, road-tar and rose-petal notes have a thick but supple tannic musculature and wonderful orange-peel acidity that lingers through a long finish. Very pretty, and likely to age exceptionally well. I'd positively love to taste this in 10 years. Certainly one of the best renditions of this variety I've ever had from California. (AY)

The 2019 Aglianico Camino Alto Vineyard is a bold, powerful wine. Dark plum, sage, smoke, licorice, mocha and spice lend quite a bit of complexity. The Camino Alto Aglianico is not super varietal, but there is certainly a lot going on here. This site at 2,300 feet in El Dorado planted on granitic soils yields a wine of notable character and aromatic presence.
