Tasting notes
The 1990 Ruchottes-Chambertin is labelled “Michel Bonnefond”, which is the same as Christophe Roumier with whom the métayage is shared. It has a slightly cooked nose with mulberry and truffle, showing just a touch of VA. The palate is medium-bodied with blackberry and mulberry, quite bold with the warmth of the growing season showing through towards the finish. Not bad, but not the best Ruchottes that I have tasted from the hands of Roumier by a long way. Tasted at Carré des Feuillants restaurant in Paris.
