Tasting notes
Jericho Canyon's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve marries together scents of cedar, vanilla, cassis and raspberries. It's full-bodied but taut, with crisp acids accentuating the richness and roughness of the tannins. Powerful, concentrated stuff, with a long-lasting finish, this could benefit from at least five years and perhaps as much as 15 years in the cellar.

Slightly more expensive, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve offers up a dense purple hue to go with unevolved aromatics of cassis, spicy oak, sappy tobacco, and crushed stone. More in the style of the East Elevation with its fresher, pure, concentrated, and structured style, hide bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades. 200 cases.
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a powerful, tightly wound wine. Readers should be in no rush to open bottles. Personally I prefer the West Wall as the Reserve is compact and not at all expressive. I am not 100% convinced the fruit will ever emerge from this monolithic, powerhouse Cabernet. Ultimately, the Reserve feels overdone.
