Tasting notes
Not yet bottled, the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc (100% Varietal) is a fresh, crisp, medium-bodied wine in the making. With plenty of quality stone fruits, honeyed pineapple, and a hint of white flowers, it’s balanced, lengthy, and certainly an outstanding wine. It was brought up in 50% new oak, but you’d never know that by tasting it.

The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is crisp and steely, with terrific cut and tons of varietal character. Lemon peel, almond, white flowers and sage are all front and center. Lees stirring adds a bit of textural richness, but the style is one that emphasizes its brightness. The 2018 was done in equal parts concrete and neutral oak. This is such a pretty and expressive wine.
Composed of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Musque clone Sauvignon, fermented 50% in neutral oak and 50% in concrete egg, the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc bursts with vibrant lemon tart, key lime pie and fresh grapefruit notes followed by nuances of honeysuckle, paraffin wax and orange blossoms. Medium-bodied, the palate is charged with electric zip and zing, following the crisp line to a long, refreshing finish. 136 cases were made.
