Unwinding in the glass with a generous bouquet of pear, orange oil, fresh pastry and white flowers, the 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos is full-bodied, rich and layered, with an elegantly muscular core of fruit, chalky extract and lively acids, concluding with a penetrating finish. This is quite a demonstrative young Les Clos, yet it's also built to age.

The 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru is another terrific wine in this range. Apricot, orange peel, mint, pastry and vanillin notes all blossom in the glass. The 2017 is ample, creamy and voluptuous. This is an especially dense, plush style of Chablis that is going to need a few years in bottle to shed some baby fat. Even so, the 2017 is pretty remarkable in the early going. All the elements meld together in an effortless, racy Chablis that hits all the right notes. The Clos is quite marked by oak at this time but it also possesses enough richness to make me think all it needs is time to be at its best.
