Tasting notes
Produced from what is consistently found to be one of Washington state's finest vineyards, the 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Ciel du Cheval Vineyard offers gorgeous aromatics of candied black fruits. Pure, focused, and medium to full-bodied, this dark cherry, cassis, rose, and black raspberry-flavored wine is sexy, sultry, and silky-textured. It has outstanding depth, focus, and length. Powerful yet refined, this beauty has the balance and stuffing for mid- to long-term cellaring. Drink it over the next 12-14 years. Tel. (206) 463-3290

Bright, saturated ruby-red. Red- and blackcurrant and dark chocolate on the nose. Round, broad and lush, with dark berry and licorice flavors nicely supported by strong underlying spine. Sharply delineated and powerful but quite dry and uncompromising. An extremely young wine with a long, building finish. Tannins are strong but avoid dryness. Likely to merit a higher score with three or four years in bottle.
