Tasting notes
Displaying a magenta rim, the 2019 Syrah Stonessence opens up the generosity of Walla Walla, presenting ripe and succulent red and black fruit essences alongside turned earth, savory herbs and a subtle hint of iodine mingled with sour cherries. Medium-bodied and boasting succulent, bright and energetic acidity, the palate bursts with layers of fresh red fruit, nuanced hints of umami and saddle leather, leading into notes of pink peppercorns and savory sausage. The Syrah gracefully glides to a lingering finish, marked by persistent flavors of pepper-crusted meat and cranberry compote. Just under 5,500 bottles were produced.

All Syrah, the 2019 Syrah Stonessence has rocking amounts of blue fruits, spring flowers, gravelly earth, and gunpowder-like nuances as well as a pure, seamless, layered, full-bodied style on the palate. Rich, concentrated, yet pure and as graceful as they come, this is gorgeous on every level. It offers pleasure today yet will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and keep for two decades.
