Aromas of pear, honeyed peaches, beeswax, fresh apricot and buttery pastry introduce the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot, a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and textural wine that's built around serious reserves of dry extract and impressively lively acids. With structuring phenolics from ripe skins and prodigious concentration, this evokes Moreau's fine 2015 Morgeot.

Morgeot is 60 of Chassagne’s 300 ha. Lots of lieux-dits are allowed to be called Morgeot. Just four barrels. Tank sample. Sweet, floral and pure. Super-juicy. Almost like the purest apple juice mixed with Chardonnay. Very fresh and long. (JR)
