Tasting notes
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Caldwell vineyard in Coombsville and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has lots of minerality, earth, underbrush, blackcurrant and blueberry fruit. It is medium to full-bodied, with sweet, ripe tannin, and like so many 2013s, it is concentrated, but at the same time still somewhat tightly knit and coiled. This wine should drink well for 15-20 years.

A rich, boisterous wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is a terrific example of the year. Pine, graphite, mint, black cherries and blackberry jam lift from the glass. Vibrant and nuanced throughout, but with plenty of mid-palate richness, the 2013 is wonderfully balanced. There is a lot to like. Vineyard sources are Caldwell Vineyard and Coombsville.
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is another fabulous wine from Moone-Tsai. A gorgeous entry-level wine, the 2013 blossoms with a compelling array of blue and black stone fruits, along with more exotic orange peel, smoke and spice overtones. The flavors remain almost shockingly raw, primary and unevolved. At times, the 2013 tastes like a young wine just drained from tank. This is such a promising wine.
