Score 92/100 · Drink 2019-2027, Jeb Dunnuck, Jun 2019

Slightly lighter ruby-colored, the 2017 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown comes from a great site on the coast, and it spent ten months in 45% new oak. Violets, blueberries, raspberries, spice box and underbrush notes all emerge from this elegant, medium-bodied Pinot Noir that has nicely integrated acidity, fine tannins, and a great finish. It's in a very different style compared to the Bob's Ranch release, with a touch more complex and elegance, as well as less density. It should keep for 7-8 years.

Medium ruby-purple, the 2017 Pinot Noir Gap’s Crown Vineyard has a wonderful, layered nose with cinnamon stick and nutmeg, vibrant warm cranberries, blueberries and black fruits with hints of cola, charcuterie and perfumed earth. Medium-bodied and silky in the mouth with intense, concentrated fruits, it offers spice and earth nuances with soft tannins, juicy acidity and a long finish. 572 cases produced.
