(100% cabernet sauvignon) Bright ruby-red. Cool aromas of blueberry, blackberry and licorice. Supple and dense, with good concentration to its black cherry and dark berry flavors but a light touch for such a chewy mountain wine. Finishes with substantial broad, dusty tannins and solid backbone. This gets a four-to-six-day cold soak and is fermented in open-top oak uprights. "The struggle here is to tame the aggressive tannins," explains winemaker Graham Weerts.
