Tasting notes
Classic ripe blackberry and blue fruits as well as peppery spice and violet notes emerge from the 2017 Syrah Les Collines, which is medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and elegant on the palate. Coming from a great vineyard on the eastern side of the Walla Walla AVA, brought up in 30% new French oak, drink this beautiful 2017 Syrah any time over the coming decade.

Moderately saturated medium red. Sexy scents of raspberry, blueberry, pepper and game; not overly saline like Syrah from The Rocks, but still shows minerality and stony complexity. Delivers lovely texture and fruit concentration, with harmonious acidity and a peppery quality giving definition and lift to the pliant red fruit and spice flavors. This fine-grained, nicely perfumed midweight is neither thick nor heavy. The firm, tooth-dusting tannins are supported by the wine's fruit on the subtly long back end. I love the Old World aromatics here.
