Score 94/100 · Drink 2025-2040, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2024

The 2022 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills has pure, layered scents of cranberry, forest floor, licorice, bitters and tea leaves. The medium-bodied palate is concentrated and nuanced. It’s structured by dusty tannins and mouthwatering acidity and has a long, spicy finish.

Full bottle 1,358g. Pale ruby with a bit of dissolved CO 2 leaving teensy bubbles across the surface. A bit riper fruit than the entry-level Pinot Noir but still savoury – black plum, tart marionberry, and a soft green mossiness with a hint of iron. Bright acid, fine tannin, and well-integrated sweet oak spice on the finish. (SCJ)

A jeweled magenta/ruby color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills is perfumed and highly expressive, which is true to the vintage character as a whole. Bottled in December, it opens to a wonderful bouquet of potpourri, rose water, wild raspberries, grenadine, and fresh forest herbs. Medium-bodied, it’s full of refined elegance, with fine tannins and refreshing, ripe acidity. This really takes a page from the Burgundian side of their heritage. It’s beautiful now but will have a wide drinking window over the coming 8-10 years. I would love this wine any time.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills wafts up a delicately spicy blend of dusty black cherries, ground cloves and dried roses. It is round and supple yet lifted in feel, with crisp red berry fruits elevated by a core of zesty acidity as hints of sour citrus add cheek-puckering tension. This tapers off long and perfumed with a bed of crunchy tannins that frames the experience remarkably well. I would never guess that the 2022 hails from a warm vintage.
