Tasting notes
The 2016 Corton Les Bressandes Grand Cru has an intense bouquet with layers of raspberry, wild strawberry, rose petals and orange rind aromas, an underlying mineralité becoming evident as it opens in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe tannins, good density, maybe not as complex or as mineral-driven as Bichot’s Corton Clos des Maréchale, yet it is undeniably persistent and fresh. Not bad, but not top of the class. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.

Mid crimson. Light, savoury, briary red fruit spread of flavours. Very juicy and appealing – and the price is not totally silly (just quite silly...). Well done. Very slight oak hint at present but I would expect that to disappear. (JR)
