The dark plum/ruby-tinged 2002 Pinot Noir reveals sweet aromas of forest floor, black cherries, plums, and raspberries. Attractive, with good sweetness as well as a spicy, supple personality, it should be consumed over the next 3-4 years. Tel. (707) 257-5300; Fax (707) 257-6022

(just bottled) Good red-ruby color. Raspberry, currant, smoke and game on the nose. Rich, sweet and chewy; conveys a stronger sensation of extract than the silky and classic 2001. Has muscle and weight without coming off as heavy. The crop level in 2002 was shrunk by the heat, noted Tony Soter, who told me that this harvest was particularly tricky for cabernet sauvignon. Finishes chewy, ripely tannic and long.
