Tasting notes
Deep ruby. Mineral- and spice-accented aromas of dark berries and violet on the perfumed nose. At once fleshy and lithe, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors, with a building hint of smokiness. Turns spicier on the nicely persistent finish, which features supple tannins and lingering smoke and floral nuances.

The 2012 Cornas Premices knocks it out of the park with its chocolaty dark fruits, leather, crushed rock and licorice aromas and flavors. Dense, full-bodied and concentrated, with a hedonistic, voluptuous slant, drink it over the coming 6-7 years.
Young vines. Quite a stinky nose – either reductive or bretty. But the palate is far cleaner and well defined. There is a sweetness to the oak and the palate is very smooth. (RH)
