Tasting notes
The 2006 Pinot Noir Savoya is another property developed and owned by Ken Wright. He began working this vineyard in 1998. The wine has an expressive nose, intense, sweet fruit, great complexity, an elegant personality, superb concentration, and a very long, pure finish. Ken Wright Cellars remains a benchmark for Oregon Pinot Noir. Wright’s portfolio of 2006s is outstanding across the board. As has become customary, Ken Wright has pulled off a tour de force in farming and winemaking. Tel. (503) 853-7070; www.kenwrightcellars.com

Medium red color. Deep, unforthcoming nose suggests black raspberry and plum, with dark chocolate and licorice qualities accentuating the brooding character. Chewy dark fruit flavors coat the palate, seeming to gain weight with aeration. Finishes with youthful grip and primary dark fruit flavors. I wouldn't go near this for at least four or five years.
