Coming from a vineyard in the Fort Ross-Seaview region of the Sonoma Coast, the 2017 Pinot Noir Camp Meeting Ridge was destemmed and spent 14 months in 28% new French oak. Bright Bing cherry, sappy herbs, violets, and spring flower notes all emerge from the glass, and it's a more focused, linear, edgy Pinot Noir that shows the vintage. It should benefit from short-term cellaring (1-2 years) and keep nicely through 2029.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Camp Meeting Ridge is a pretty, savory wine built on aromatic presence and focus. There is good energy to the 2017, but at the same time, I feel the wine is a bit lacking in depth. Rose petal, dried herbs, cedar and tobacco notes come together in the glass.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Camp Meeting Ridge is pale to medium ruby in color with a cinnamon stick, tree bark and baked cranberry nose with notions of underbrush, citrus peel, wild blackberries, Earl Grey tea leaves and classic smoke and cola hints—great layers of ripe fruit, spices and bitters. Light to medium-bodied, it has an intense core of spicy fruits woven with grainy tannins and juicy acidity, finishing very long and very spicy. Yum! 1,000 cases produced.
