Tasting notes
The 2019 Pinot Noir Thorn Ridge Vineyard is a wild, assertive wine. Iron, cedar, tobacco, game, dried cherry, blood orange and white pepper all convey an intensely feral style. The 2019 is a complex, dynamic wine for the dinner table. There's not a ton of forward fruit. This style has more in common with savory reds like those of Alto Piemonte, for example, than it does with what most readers are likely to expect from Sonoma Pinot Noir.

Medium ruby-purple, the 2019 Pinot Noir Thorn Ridge has layered scents of strawberry and raspberry jam, burnt orange, licorice and autumn leaves with integrated spicy accents from its maturation in 50% new French oak. The medium-bodied palate is concentrated and seamless, offering a silky texture, fresh acidity and loads of spice and perfume layers on the long finish.
