Muscat à Petits Grains Rouges. 12 years average age. Solera system. 180-litre barrels and old oak. Walnut brown. Dried-fig sweetness on the nose. Nutty and savouy too. Pure dried figs on the palate. So viscous it is almost physically impossible to spit. With a delicious toasty aftertaste. Deep and intense and so sweet and glorious. Still so fresh. (JH)
Pale tawny. Nutty. Rancio. Very vibrant. Chocolate, raisins and nuts and very vital even if not very regal. Lots there. Long. Great with chocolate. (JR)
Bright rich red. Quite a lot of lift and tension on the nose. A skein of bitterness. Liquorice. Really quite concentrated – big step up from Rutherglen – not sure for the better. Not as obviously Muscat. Bit raw. Very thick and concentrated. (JR)
