Tasting notes
Saturated ruby. Inviting aromas of blackberry, cassis, licorice, crushed-stone minerality and blackstrap molasses. Densely packed, thick and slightly high-toned, with its sweet dark fruit, mocha and chocolate flavors displaying plenty of personality. This is thick and very accessible but has the material to support further evolution in bottle; in fact, this wine may yet absorb more of its baby fat. Finishes very long, with plush, substantial tannins and palate-saturating breadth. No shortage of energy here, but today this wine impresses most for its lushness. (15% alcohol)

Deep ruby. Musky aromas of black fruits, espresso and cocoa; shows a strong torrefaction quality. Lush, silky and refined; more filled in and showy today than the basic cabernet release, which is also from estate fruit in 2009. Richer and lower-toned than the regular cabernet, with complicating notes of chocolate, mocha, earth and game. Finishes fat and long, with harmonious melting tannins.
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a big, rich, seamless wine endowed with gorgeous depth and plushness. Dark red fruit, licorice, spices and menthol are some of the notes that take shape in the glass in this big, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon. A rich, textured finish rounds things out in style.
