Tasting notes
The 2013 Chardonnay Savoir Faire is a slightly darker gold color and offers a big, sweet kiss of roasted almonds and hazelnuts as well as some apple crisp, poached pear, honeysuckle and brioche notes. This complex, full-bodied, Bâtard-Montrachet-like Chardonnay should drink well for 7-8 years. It is a tour de force in winemaking and a profound Chardonnay.

The 2013 Chardonnay Savoir Faire is intensely mineral, with an almost phenolic sense of structure underpinning the fruit. Tangerine peel, almonds, white flowers, mint and nutmeg are all laced together in a Chardonnay endowed with tons of depth. In 2013, the Savoir Faire is a blend of equal parts estate fruit and purchased fruit. Readers will have to give the 2013 at least a year or two in bottle to unwind, as it is quite closed today.
