Deep copper. Much more concentrated nose than the earlier Chardonnay with hints of rose petals. A very impressive example of rich Chardonnay that tastes very much fresh thanks to its lower alcohol and therefore less fat. A most impressive wine for those who are looking for sheer weight and sweetness, although one needs to wait for the oak astringency to disappear. (JR)

Lanolin, black and blue fruit preserves, honey and brown spice aromas. Fat and full in the mouth, with a slightly detached note of oak but plenty of fresh apple and berry fruit and no caramelization. The wine ends with a creamy, long, blueberry-honey finish. 1 star.
