Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District is all Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in 100% new French oak. It's another saturated purple-colored effort from this estate and offers awesome notes of cassis, blueberries, spiced plums, incense, and fruitcake. This rocking 2015 has tons of fruit, notable purity and freshness, a layered texture, and a great finish. It's about as hedonistic as it gets, and I'm a fan.

The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District (a barrel sample) has an expressive nose of red and black currants, bay leaves, earth and forest floor. Full-bodied, concentrated, lively and toasty in the mouth, it has good red and black fruit expression and an herbal finish that's just a little bit chewy at this nascent stage.
