Score 94/100 · Drink 2016-2025, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015

More sexy and voluptuous than the Santa Lucia Highlands releases, Mike Officer’s 2013 Syrah James Berry Vineyard exhibits a crazy black/blue color as well as sensational notes of crème de cassis, black raspberry, cracked pepper and violets. Full-bodied, forward, sexy and velvety textured, yet with ample concentration and fine tannin, it’s a fabulous Paso Robles Syrah that does everything right. Give it a year or three and drink bottles through 2025.
