Tasting notes
The 2013 Pinot Noir Bergstrom Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1999 on basalt soils and is 100% whole cluster, not that you can tell on the nose because the stem addition is very discrete. Instead, one finds dark berry fruit, wild mint and wilted rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a slightly savory, almost biscuity opening, plenty of leafy red berry fruit with a balanced and harmonious finish. Drink over the next 8-10 years.

Vivid red. Explosively perfumed bouquet of red fruits and flowers complicated by incense and Asian spices. Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering intense black raspberry and mulberry flavors plus hints of spicecake and candied rose. Finishes sappy and long, with silky tannins, terrific energy and lift and an emphatic echo of juicy red fruit.
