Tasting notes
The 2012 Pinot Noir Bergstrom Vineyard was planted in 1998 and 1999 and the 2012 saw a great deal of whole-cluster fruit. It has a well-defined and characterful bouquet with subtle floral scents, red plum, wild strawberry and a touch of dried blood. The palate is medium-bodied with a superb savory-tinged entry, a subtle dash of spice and wonderful tension. There is a sense of completeness here and complexity that is outstanding and it lingers long after the wine has departed. This represents one of the best wines of the vintage.

Vivid ruby. Intensely perfumed dark berry, Indian spice and potpourri scents are lifted by a smoky mineral quality. Sweet, deeply pitched black raspberry and cherry cola flavors are given lift and cut by juicy acidity and pick up a rose pastille quality with air. At once rich and lively, finishing with superb clarity, palate-staining length and harmonious tannins.
