2012 Donkey & Goat Mourvèdre The Prospector

Opaque ruby. Smoky dark berries, licorice, espresso and violet on the deeply perfumed nose. Shows unlikely energy given its dark profile, offering bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors and a spine of juicy acidity. Becomes spicier and smokier with air and finishes with a whiplash of dark berry skin and floral qualities along with youthfully gripping tannins. By all means give this one some air, or, even better, three-plus years more bottle age.
