Good dark red. Slightly high-toned aromas of strawberry and underbrush, plus a whiff of coffee reduction. Saline and slightly dry, with redcurrant and leather flavors framed by sound acidity. Comes across as a bit hard and dry after the grand crus from Corton but finishes with good salty persistence.

The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny Village offers red plum and raspberry preserve on the nose that is just missing a little delineation at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with the oak just showing too much of its hand. There is satisfactory depth toward the finish but it will certainly need a couple of years after bottling to fully subsume the wood.
