Tasting notes
Located off State Lane in Yountville, this nine-acre vineyard was planted to four different clones of Cabernet and is farmed by Jim Barbour. Pulido-Walker's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Policy Estate Vineyard is gently floral and herbal, offering hints of roses and black tea and perhaps a bit of thyme, woven through a core of cassis and plum. It's medium to full-bodied and silky in texture, with a long, mouthwatering and elegant finish.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Policy Estate Vineyard presents a dark, virile side of this Yountville site. Black cherry, lavender, spice, menthol and licorice add to the wine's brooding personality. Floral and savory accents complement a huge core of fruit and driving tannins. It will be interesting to see what emerges from this site now that it is owned by Mark Pulido and Donna Walker.
Lots of graphite, tobacco, scorched earth, and baking spices, as well as floral red fruit notes, emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Policy Estate Vineyard, a medium-bodied, complex, incredibly elegant 2019. It's not a blockbuster yet excels on its balance, purity, and again, elegance. Drink it over the coming 15 years or so.
