The nose shows graphite, slate, blackberries, blueberries, wild mint and thyme. The palate has quite a bit of acidity and lift, with plush, mouth-filling tannins. This is a full-bodied cab with freshness and tension from a region most famous for pinot noir. Drink or hold.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the best wines in the range, odd as that might sound for an estate in the heart of the Russian River Valley. It offers an exotic mix of old-school savory aromatics married to a core of inky, opulent dark fruit. Bay leaf, sage, menthol, licorice and chocolate show tremendous concentration. This potent Cabernet needs time to settle down, but it is super-impressive.
