Good medium red-ruby. Plum liqueur, redcurrant, smoke, milk chocolate and graphite minerality on the nose. Creamy-sweet in the mouth but with solid underlying structure giving shape to the wine. Here the tannins are much broader and finer than those of the second wine. This comes across as much riper than a barrel sample I tasted last year, which was decidedly greener.

Good deep ruby-red. Cool, medicinal aromas of blueberry and mint. Offer good purity of flavor but this is all cut and no flesh today, with a rather pronounced green component. Finishes with drying tannins. Not my style.
