Tasting notes
Unfortunately Foxen's 2015 Pinot Noir Solomon Hills shows just how challenging the vintage was. Faded color and a lack of both fruit intensity and freshness are impossible to miss, while the purity that makes the best Pinots from this site so compelling never appear.

Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir Solomon Hills Vineyard gives a nose of kirsch, cranberry sauce and rhubarb pie with touches of baking spices and violets. The medium-bodied palate sports a great core of vibrant red fruits, supported by fine-grained tannins and appealing freshness, finishing with lingering spice hints.
I also loved the 2015 Pinot Noir Solomon Hills Vineyard, and it's a broad, expansive red that shows the power and fruit-forward style of the vineyard. Kirsch, framboise, dried tea and spice aromas and flavors all emerge from this beauty, and it's already drinking nicely, yet will easily keep through 2025.
