Tasting notes
Ripe black cherries, red plums, scorched earth, and graphite notes, as well as subtle spice and incense, define the 2021 Zinfandel Ponzo, another pure, balanced, layered 2021 from Ridge. It clearly offers pleasure today, yet I think it's going to develop a touch more complexity with 2-3 years in the cellar and have a solid decade of prime drinking.

The 2021 Zinfandel Ponzo screams out of the glass with varietal character. Ripe red cherry fruit, kirsch, menthol, spice, rose petal and star anise all grace this exotic, medium to full-bodied Zinfandel. The purity of the flavors is compelling. Silky tannins and lifted florals frame the finish.
