A blend of 90% Zinfandel and 5% each of Petite Sirah and Alicante Bouschet, the 2021 Zinfandel Pagani Ranch has textbook Zinfandel sweet red and black plum, sandalwood, cigar, candied orange-driven aromatics as well as a beautifully layered, textured style on the palate. I love its overall balance, it has ripe, polished tannins, and a just a pure, layered, complex style with so much to love.

90% Zinfandel, 5% Petite Sirah, 5% Alicante Bouschet. Another exclusive!!!! Aged for 14 months in American oak barrels. Natural cork. Vegan. Sweet, spicy nose. Much fresher than most Zins. A sort of Zin guaranteed to beguile claret lovers. Still quite youthful. (JR)

The 2021 Zinfandel Pagani Ranch is a wine of tremendous stature. Vertical and composed in bearing, the 2021 has a ton to offer, but is also a bit reserved today. Time in the glass brings out a mesmerizing range of red/purplish fruit, spice, cedar, new leather, tobacco, mocha and dried flowers. Pagani Ranch remains a beacon for Sonoma County Zinfandel-based field blends. This is a fine rendition.

90% Zinfandel, 5% Petite Sirah and 5% Alicante Bouschet. First produced in 1991. Vineyard planted in the late 1880s to early 1900s, with a few more recent blocks. This is one of the last sites to be harvested each year. 100% air-dried American oak barrels (3% new) for 14 months. pH 3.42, TA 6.27 g/l. Medium ruby with a purple hue. Very floral and aromatic with a fresh grapiness and fresh red and black plum. Moderate sandy tannin and mouth-watering acidity. Ripe red raspberry, spice and toast with concentrated flavours and extended length. Very fresh. (SCJ)
