Tasting notes
The black/purple-tinged 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Morisoli Vineyard comes from a site located between the Manley and Niebaum Lanes in Rutherford, at the base of Mt. St. John, that is primarily composed of gravelly soil. Sweet, dense, rich, blueberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with incense, truffle and floral notes jump from the glass of this impressively concentrated, aromatic wine. Multidimensional, dense and rich, it is one of the finest wines I have tasted from Elyse. One of the stars of the vintage, it is approachable now, should hit its prime in another 4-5 years, and last for 20-25 years. Tel. (707) 944-2900; Fax (707) 945-0301

Lush black plum and black cherry fruit, lavish oak, chocolate and leather. Pleasant earthiness, integrated tannins and firm acidity. An alcoholic finish drops it down a notch. (LM) $80
