Tasting notes
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is ripe, bold and juicy, with lovely aromatic top notes, bright red-toned fruit and impeccable balance - all in a mid-weight style that offers terrific immediacy. This is just a joyous bottle of Napa Valley Cabernet. This is the smallest production of this wine in many years, a third to a quarter of what has been normal in the past.

Lots of plum and coffee character on the nose and palate. Full body, round and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Needs a year or two to soften. Better from 2020.
Blended of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District is deep garnet-purple in color with scents of baked black berries, mulberries, spice cake, cedar and toast. Medium to full-bodied, it is soft-spoken and earthy with nice plush tannins and good freshness.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is dark, plummy and flamboyant, with intense jammy fruit and soft, racy contours. In 2017, the Estate is unusually ample, but that should not be an issue. This is likely to be a gorgeous, crowd-pleasing style.
