Tasting notes
The 1999 Pinot Noir PNX offers layers of sweet fruit on the attack as well as complex berry, earth, and floral notes, but in the mouth, it becomes attenuated. The acidity compresses the wine and gives it a short, undistinguished finish. (Not yet released) Tel. (707) 226-1395 and (800) MONDAVI; fax (707) 251-4386.

Medium red. Cherry, spicy oak and intriguing vegetal nuances on the nose. Ripe and chewy in the mouth, with opulent but slightly rustic flavors of roasted berries. The finish is less refined than that of the reserve pinot.
