Tasting notes
(14.4% alcohol): Medium ruby-red. Aromas of blueberry, licorice and herbs. Juicy and tight on the palate, with medicinal black fruit flavors cut off by serious firm tannins. Doesn't show the flesh or pliancy of the best examples from this vintage. Juicy but tight and tannic, and dry on the aftertaste. I'm not sure this can go anywhere interesting at this point.

A delicious, open-knit, fruity, up-front effort, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc aged in 25% new oak (primarily French). In keeping with the vintage character, it is a seductive, lush, round, medium-bodied, easy-going Cabernet with ripe tannin as well as low acidity. This delicious 2004 should be drunk over the next 8-10 years. Tel. (707) 259-6636
