Inky purple-black in color, the 2018 Petite Syrah Pesenti Vineyard has lush scents of cassis, cedar, menthol and turned earth with floral notes and a touch of tar. The palate is full-bodied with dense fruits, although the frame is fine and grainy, and it has just enough freshness to support the long, dense finish. Give it more time in bottle.

Violet, black pepper, iron, cedar, licorice, menthol and lavender give this nuanced Petite Syrah from vineyards planted at 1,400 feet a super-distinctive profile. Vibrant, deep and powerful, with tons of pure palate presence, the Pesenti is shaping up to be a winner. All it needs is time in bottle to be at its very best.
