The 2018 Dhroner Hofberg Riesling Réserve is the first of its kind since the 2012 vintage. Based on perfectly ripe grapes from a plot planted n 1953 and aged on the lees until May 2020 prior the unfiltered bottling, the 2018 Hofberg Réserve offers clear, deep, pure and fresh, very intense and concentrated fruit in a very complex bouquet with crunchy and crystalline slate aromas. Piquant and fresh on the palate, this is a full-bodied, very complex, crystalline and elegant Riesling with a crunchy, salty-piquant and aromatic finish. This is an impressive wine, though I'd tend to keep it for another year or two to get the best out of it. 13% alcohol. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.
