(North Berkeley cuvee Very fresh aromas of spiced peach, pear, quince and dusty spices. Sweet, spicy and dense, with a cool core of steely, stony flavor. Very tightly coiled wine that opened with air to show a creamier texture. Brisk, clinging finish. Superb for Narvaux; North Berkeley's David Hinkle notes that his selection did not include any new barrels.

Spiced minerals can be discerned in the aromatics of the 2002 Meursault Narvaux Cuvee Unique. Focused, crystalline, and lemony, this is a light to medium-bodied, bright, citrus and quartz-flavored effort. It is vivacious, steely, and refreshing.
