Inky purple. A drop-dead gorgeous bouquet of black raspberry, blueberry, spicecake and potpourri, along with a hint of white pepper. Very fresh and precise in the mouth, offering sweet dark fruit flavors that possess both heft and litheness. Fine-grained tannins add shape to the expansive, mineral-tinged finish. Like the regular bottling this will age on its balance.

The 2007 Astrales Christina was sourced from 87-year-old vines from a single vineyard and aged in new French oak for 24 months before bottling without fining or filtration. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it gives up a super-expressive bouquet of pain grille, Asian spices, lavender, truffle, black cherry, and blackberry. Voluptuous on the palate with gobs of spicy black fruits and enough structure to evolve for 6-8 years, this hedonistic Toro proffers a drinking window extending 2015 to 2037.
